U2Demo is heading to ENLIT Europe 2025, taking place from 18 to 20 November at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Spain! ENLIT brings together thousands of energy professionals, innovators, and policymakers from across Europe. Together, they explore solutions for a cleaner, smarter, and more connected energy future. You can already find our event profile here.
After a successful participation at ENLIT Europe 2024 in Milan, we are excited to return. Last year, we introduced the project and connected with many inspiring initiatives. You can read more about last year’s highlights here.
At this year’s event, our team will share plans for the upcoming pilot sites in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Italy. Local communities at these sites will soon begin exploring new ways to collaborate and manage renewable energy together. In addition, we will present our ongoing work on the open‑source tools and digital platform that will support transparent and trustworthy energy sharing between neighbours and local actors.
Throughout the event, several of our partners will be present at the U2Demo booth in the EU Projects Zone (Stand 5.F30-S013) to meet visitors, share insights, and discuss collaboration opportunities:
- Rita Nunes and Mariana Carmo (INESC-ID)
- 18 November, morning: Humberto Queiroz (EDP)
- 18 November, 14:00–16:00: Ondrej Cerny (E.DSO)
- 19 November, 14:00–16:00: Jade Cantero and Gladys Leon (Artelys)
- 20 November, 14:00–16:00: Glenn Reynders (KU Leuven)

We will also be part of a session at the EU Projects Zone, represented by Helena Gérard (VITO/EnergyVille):
Tuesday 18 November | 11:30–12:30 | EU Projects Zone, Stage 3
Session: “Digital Technologies”
This session features projects contributing to Europe’s digital energy future, including Quasar, U2Demo, EFORT, HEDGE-IOT, BEGONIA, and ATELIER. View the full session description on the ENLIT website here.
If you’re attending ENLIT 2025, make sure to stop by our stand. Meet the U2Demo team and discover how we are working to turn shared, citizen‑led energy into reality. Together, we can build the foundations for a fair and community‑driven energy future.
