Webinars & Expert Insights

Discover the latest insights from the U2Demo project through our collection of webinars and expert contributions. This page brings together in-depth webinar recordings and concise video insights from task leaders, showcasing key findings, methodologies, and real-world applications developed throughout the project.

Our webinars offer a deeper dive into topics such as energy sharing models, flexibility, and the role of energy communities in the transition to a more sustainable and decentralised energy system. Complementing these sessions, short expert videos highlight the main outcomes of specific deliverables, providing quick and accessible takeaways from project partners.

Together, these resources form a central hub to explore U2Demo’s results, exchange knowledge, and support stakeholders, researchers, and practitioners working towards a more democratic and resilient energy system.

Webinar #1 – Mapping Legal and Regulatory Framework for P2P energy sharing platforms

This webinar explores the legal and regulatory framework for peer-to-peer (P2P) energy sharing in Europe. It highlights how EU legislation and national implementations shape the development of energy sharing within energy communities. Based on Deliverable D1.1 – Mapping Law and Regulation in Energy Sharing and P2P Trading within Energy Communities, led by the Florence School of Regulation (FSR), the webinar provides valuable insights into the roles, responsibilities, and interactions between key actors, including consumers, energy communities, suppliers, and distribution system operators (DSOs).

Webinar #2 - Energy Sharing Models & Flexibility Delivery from Energy Communities

This webinar explores different energy sharing models and how they enable flexibility within energy communities. It highlights how local energy sharing and trading arrangements can support cost savings, resource optimisation, and the provision of flexibility services in decentralised energy systems. Based on Deliverable D2.1 – P2P market and energy sharing designs and consumer participation processes, and hosted by VITO, the webinar provides insights into the classification of energy sharing models and their potential to deliver value for consumers, energy communities, and system operators, drawing on real-world implementations and quantitative analyses.
