U2Demo strengthens its role at BRIDGE General Assembly 2026

The U2Demo project reaffirmed its active role within Europe’s energy innovation landscape during the BRIDGE General Assembly 2026, highlighting its continued contribution to collaborative efforts on the clean energy transition.

This year’s General Assembly focused on key challenges shaping Europe’s energy systems, with the goal of ensuring resilient, stable, and interconnected power grids. The event brought together Horizon Europe projects and BRIDGE Working Groups to exchange insights and experiences. Discussions addressed topics such as the digitalization and automation of grid infrastructure, interoperability and sector integration, flexibility and storage solutions for renewable integration, and risk management strategies to tackle both physical and cyber threats.

The agenda also covered priorities of the BRIDGE Working Groups, including regulatory and market frameworks supporting renewable integration and flexibility, digitalization and data exchange, the use of AI in smart grids, and strategies to enhance competitiveness and market uptake of research outcomes. Consumer-centric approaches and citizen engagement were central themes throughout these discussions.

For U2Demo, participation in the BRIDGE ecosystem provides a valuable opportunity to position its work on peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading within the broader European context. The project focuses on developing consumer-centred energy management strategies and tools that enable energy sharing, contributing to a more inclusive and participatory energy system. This approach empowers citizens and communities to actively shape how energy is produced, exchanged, and consumed.

Engagement in BRIDGE also allows U2Demo to collaborate with other projects, exchange knowledge, and address shared challenges. This includes identifying regulatory barriers, strengthening citizen engagement, and improving inclusivity, trust, and the adoption of innovative energy solutions.

Through its continued involvement in BRIDGE activities and Working Groups, U2Demo ensures that its technical developments contribute to future policy recommendations and support the creation of standards guiding Europe’s clean energy transition.
