Description
Country: Belgium
REScoop.Vlaanderen is the Flemish federation of citizen cooperatives for renewable energy. REScoop unites citizen initiatives that work according to the internationally recognized principles of cooperative entrepreneurship (ICA definition & principles).
REScoops meet both European definitions of energy communities. A REScoop (Renewable Energy Sources cooperative) is a citizen initiative that wants to harvest the environmental energy (sun-wind-water-biomass-geothermal energy) for its own use, based on the direct participation model and the international cooperative principles. As a cooperative member, you have a dual relationship with your REScoop: as a shareholder of the cooperative and as a user of the goods and services produced. REScoops are value-driven instead of profit-driven, the added value of the user takes precedence over the added value of the shareholder. Co-ownership, democratic control and service provision to the cooperative members are central to this. You can explore these properties interactively for yourself, your organization or a group of people via the e-learning tool ICA-Kompas.

Interactions and the transfer of knowledge by building connections with other projects and national as well as European initiatives will be planed under the present WP.
This WP focuses on the in-depth assessment of the P2P trading and energy sharing, developing the outlook how these tools and methods can be replicated and scaled for a major adoption. These tasks together ensure the success of the project by assessing the impact, adoption, maintenance of open-source tools.
